Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, is a tourist’s dream come true. Of the many places to go and sights to see, we have selected a collection of the most important and interesting landmarks for you to explore. The sites are appropriate for all types of tourists’ interests and include many highlights for children.
We will take you on an adventure through the historic center Gamla Stan. Take a few moments to look around and admire the beauty of this majestic city. In every direction you look you can spot buildings of gold, red, blue, yellow, burnt orange, teal and a continued assortment of pastel tones. The charm of this neighborhood instantly transports you back to the 17th and 18th century, when this was the bustling center of the growing city.
As you stroll along you will notice the different smells which drift from the bistros and cafes that are squeezed into the adorable narrow little streets. The narrowest street on this Medieval island is Mårten Trotzigs Gränd and it is so narrow that it is almost impossible to find! But don't worry, it's a stop on your tour today and we will be sure to point it out to you so you don’t easily pass it.
These small streets also offer an intimate experience of Stockholm, as you can spend all day wandering them, windowing shopping and admiring the different arts and crafts produced in the city. Just walking these streets can make you feel as if you are in an open-air museum, surrounded by stunning architecture, medieval artifacts, unique eateries, Middle Age frescos and the best boutiques.
We have a good amount of walking ahead of us and you are sure to work up and appetite. In Gamla Stan you can find almost everything you are looking for, from traditional Nordic cuisine to more trendy fusion eateries.
Some of our points of interest today include the Royal Palace, the Royal Armory, strolling down one of the biggest streets as well as passing the smallest. We will wander through Stortorget Square, which is lined with the most adorable buildings and then guide you to the Cathedral and onto multiple museums and government buildings, such as the House of Nobility. As your tour reaches its last points, we will exit Gamla Stan and make our way to the Royal Opera House before finishing at the Stockholm City Hall. There are many more places in between these stops, so let’s get started to discover them all.
On our tour, we will explore many different attractions and museums, some of which are free of cost and others that require admission. During our tour, if you are interested in spending more time at one attraction or popping into a café for a bite to eat, just pause our audio guide and continue it afterwards, picking up where you left off. We are here to guide and assist you in the city whenever you need us.
We also have discounted tickets and fast track lane passes available for many of the sites we have included for you.
